A series of allegations have been levelled against Madhabi Puri Buch, the Chairperson of India’s stock markets regulator SEBI. The first set of charges were made by Hindenburg Research in August and there have been a slew in September by the Congress party. They question the conduct of the SEBI Chairperson and put the credibility and integrity of the regulator under a serious cloud. Anuradha SenGupta asks Praveen Chakravarty of the Congress party why they are making these allegations. Is it about politics or a serious breach of ethics?
